Briggs & Stratton to Expand Commercial Turf Capacity

August 17, 2017

Briggs & Stratton, a producer of gasoline engines for outdoor power equipment, said Thursday that it will move its commercial turf operations from its current facility in Munnsville, New York to a newly leased facility in Sherrill, New York to expand its current manufacturing capacity. The expanded operations will result in approximately 50 additional production employees.

The company said it expects the new facility to begin partial production in the Spring of 2018, and be fully operational by spring of 2019. Late Wednesday, the company reported fiscal Q4 results that lagged analysts’ estimates. BGG was 13.1% lower in early afternoon trade.
