Northwest Natural Gas Posts Q4 EPS Miss, Beats on Revenue

Northwest Natural Gas Company reported Monday financial results for Q4, with lower-than-expected earnings and revenue that topped analysts’ expectations; it also provided earnings guidance for fiscal 2017 below forecasts.

The company, which stores and distributes natural gas, posted earnings of $1 per share, compared with the prior-year period’s $1.08 per share. Analysts polled by Capital IQ were expecting EPS of $1.04.

Revenue was $233.5 million, up 1% from $230.7 million in the same quarter last year. The Street view was for revenue of $127.8 million. The company expects fiscal 2017 EPS of $2.05 – $2.25 versus the Street view is for EPS of $2.32.
